About Us

Cub Scout Pack 102 is in the Lake Erie Council, Cub Scouting Division of the Boy Scouts of America Program. Our Charter Organization is the Lake Erie Council.

The Pack has a meeting or an activity at least once per month. This meeting or event involves all the Dens and their families. At the Pack meeting, there is an opening ceremony, announcements, awards and an activity.

Dens and Den Meetings

The Pack is arranged into smaller units called Dens. Dens are made up of Scouts grouped by age, gender and school grade. As the

Cub Scouts move from grade to grade, they also move up the ladder to the next rank. Your Den Leader will schedule regular den meetings. At these Den meetings, the Cub Scouts work on projects and skills that apply to earning the next rank in Cub Scouting.

They learn to work together and develop leadership skills. Activities are designed to encourage positive character traits through building self-assurance and interaction with one’s family, faith and community. Each Den sets and adjusts its own meeting schedule. Dens typically meet 1-2 times per month.

Parent Involvement

The Cub Scout’s adult partner is important at all levels of Cub Scouting. Adults need to be involved to make the Scouting experience successful. Adult partners are required to be with Lion and Tiger Cubs (K-1 st grade) at all meetings and activities. As Scouts progress through the ranks, the emphasis shifts toward working within the Dens and less one-on-one adult interaction is required. Parents are always encouraged to attend and participate in all Den and Pack activities with their Scouts, and we ask that parents always be present for overnight activities with their Scouts.

Each Den must have a trained leader (preferably two co-leaders) to coordinate the activities for the meetings and to keep track of achievements completed and awards earned. The Den Leaders are also adult partners of their Cub Scouts. Each year, the new Lion Cub Den must select adult volunteers as soon as possible after the Join Night to provide momentum for the new Den’s activities.

Training will be Provided.

Parents will be asked if they would be available to help with an event or service project. Our Pack desires each family to contribute on a Den and Pack level. Opportunities to volunteer will be offered. Please do not hesitate to offer assistance at any time. It’s always appreciated and can often make the activity even more enjoyable and memorable. Thank you!
